Building up a network of resources and expertise and promoting collaborations maintain and solidify the development dynamic of our area


Technopôle Brest-Iroise aims to gather all industry and research players around the same goal : to strengthen existing business offerings or to set up new ones based on R&D projects.

Technopôle Brest-Iroise identifies and lists all resources and expertise, facilitates interactions, coordinates discussion groups that will identify and shape multi and cross disciplinary collaborative programs

Thanks to this dynamic and to the international scope of the centers of expertise in the Brest area, the competitive clusters of Brittany gained certification by the government:
 

This unique action has also encouraged partnerships between industry and research in the shape of groups such as:

• G2RA - Underwater acoustics
• LITTORALIS - Integrated coastal management
• Mits - Maritime Information Technology and Services
• HALIOD - Offshore oil operations
• ITS-T - Telecommunications for intelligent transport systems

Technopôle contributes to anchor projects that will foster the economic development of the area. These projects bring together local authorities, companies, higher education and research centers around specific themes.

• Seatestbase test lab for underwater equipment to facilitate access to sea trial facilities.
• Vigisat construction of a satellite data receiver station.
• im@gin Lab  deployment of a high-speed wireless network across Brest and its harbor area.
• Climsat  center of expertise of the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) in partnership with local Brittany authorities to study the vulnerability of territories in the face of climate change.
